Prepping for the UN

The DachshundUN  is coming to Harbourfront Centre on February 28 – March 3 – less than a month away! I feel like I already can’t contain myself!

Yesterday I saw a long haired wiener walking near work and my heart started to race  and I let out a squeal! In just 24 days Harbourfront will be a bustle with over 200 dachshunds!  200!  That is crazy! (If I squeal at the site of one doxie just imagine the excitement that will be bursting from me when I see 200!)

Preparation for the DachshundUN marketplace is in full force. Castings are back from the casting house and now its a matter of turning them into wearable objects! We will be busy making friendship bracelets, charm bracelets, rings and pendants for the next few weeks.

S’wag will be selling our jewellery and greeting cards at all 4 performances. If you wish to pre-order jewellery for pick up at the show you can use promo code PICKUPUN when checking out of our Etsy shop. Pre-ordering will ensure that we have the piece you want available at the shows.

The Dog Show

Woah, it’s been a while since we’ve done a post! We are hoping everyone is happy and healthy as we have entered into this new and exciting year!

We have lots of new things on the go! We are happy to report on 2 upcoming sales we will be participating in! The first is the  Dachshund UN Marketplace! Between February 28th to March 3rd there will be 4 performance installations of the Dachshund UN at Harbourfront Centre here in Toronto. During each performance there will be a marketplace with vendors! Please check the Harbourfront website for show times!

Our second sale is at this years Spring One of a Kind show from March 27th-31st! We will be participating as part of SarahAnaDesigns in the new Etsy section of the show! We are very excited!

As you can see we will have our work cut out for us in the next few months! We will be busy making our old faithful designs as well as developing some new ones so be sure to check in often!

Calgary Wienerpawlooza

September 23rd The Calgary Lowriders Dachshund Club will be hosting Wienerpawlooza. This event is held at the Rosemont Community Hall from 11- 4. There will be a BBQ, races, demonstrations and prizes! A portion of all the proceeds from the event will go to Alberta Dachshund Rescue.

We wish we could attend then event but unfortunately it is too far away for us! In our place we have sent a donation and some “S’wag” bags.

Wiener-Paw-Looza

I am really looking forward to Wiener-Paw-Looza on September 22nd! Wiener-Paw-Looza is the annual picnic of the Canadian Dachshund Rescue. It is a day long event with races, costume contests, a BBQ and lots more!

S’wag will be attending this event as a vendor, however, money cannot be exchanged on the premises so it will be pick up/promotion only on the day of the event. Items can be ordered ahead of time from our Etsy Shop. Use Coupon Code WIENERPAWLOOZA so that you are not charged shipping!

S’wag will be donating 10% of each sale to the Canadian Dachshund Rescue.

Wiener-Paw-Looza takes place from 11-3 at Picnic Area B, Wildwood Park, Mississauga, Ontario.

Doggy Idol

Saturday, September 22, 2012 is the event Doggy Idol – Dog Days of Summer Fair in Victoria, British Columbia. The event is part of a series of events put on in support of small animal rescue organizations in the region.

Doggy Idol is a day filled with lots of fun activities including a walk-a-thon, fashion show, trade show, photo contest, educational seminars and of course a talent show!

Unfortunately S’wag cannot attend this event due to a prior commitment to Wiener-Paw-Looza here in Ontario (and also due to distance!) but we are sending a few pieces of our jewellery in our place!

Cape Cod Doxie Day

Saturday, September 22nd, 2012 is Cape Cod Doxie Day! It is an annual event for Dachshunds and their owners. It is a fun filled day with races, a fashion show, contests, a photobooth,  and so much more! Money raised through silent auction and micro-chipping goes to support the Coast to Coast Dachshund Rescue.

Unfortunately S’wag cannot attend this event as it is a little far for us to travel and we are already attending Wiener-Paw-Looza here in Ontario that day! However, we are sending a donation of a couple of our pieces of jewellery!

Ask Me Where My Wiener’s Been…

I have to say that one of the things I like best about my job is when I open up my e-mail to find a new order and the exciting moment that follows when I get to see where in the world I will be sending my jewellery!

I recently bought a map and started to mark on the map where I have sent my doxie jewellery! I brought the map with me to Wienerfest and it was a real conversation starter. I was told by previous customers places they had sent my jewellery or places they intended to send it. I even had a woman tell me she was going to send my business card to the breeder where she got her dog back in Germany!
